Airtable pricing vs no-code databases for 10, 25 and 50 people

The first No-code database price observatory: what teams of 10, 25 and 50 people really pay, depending on who gets billed.

The Rangee team12 min read

Rangee is our product; we compared it on public criteria, checked on 1 November 2026.

This is the first edition of the No-code database price observatory, updated every quarter. We checked Airtable pricing and the prices of six other tools on their official pages, then worked out the bill for three typical teams. The price per seat isn’t enough: what counts is who pays, and how many people only view.

Airtable pricing in 2026: how much does it cost?

As of 1 November 2026, Airtable Team costs $20 per editor per month on annual billing, or $24 on monthly billing. Business costs $45 annually and $54 monthly. Enterprise Scale is priced on request. The Free plan stays free, with 1,000 records per base and 5 editors.

These figures come from Airtable’s pricing page and its help page on plans, checked on 1 November 2026. The pricing page only shows the annual price; the monthly price appears in the help centre. Amounts are in dollars, with no mention of tax.

The point that changes the bill fits in one sentence: Airtable bills the people who can edit at least one base. Read-only collaborators, forms and shared links are free.

The two official pages differ on one detail. The help centre lists commenters among the billed roles on Team, and among the free roles on Business. The pricing page only mentions editing rights. Our typical viewers are read-only, so this point doesn’t change our totals.

For an overview of the tools compared here, see also our comparison of European Airtable alternatives.

How did we calculate?

We took each tool’s public price per seat, on annual and then monthly billing, and multiplied it by the number of people the vendor bills. Currencies stay as published, with no conversion. Amounts exclude tax where the page says so, and are taken as displayed otherwise.

The three typical teams follow the same logic: a minority builds and enters data, the majority views.

Team Editors Viewers Total
A 4 6 10
B 8 17 25
C 15 35 50

Five rules guided the calculation:

  • A viewer is someone who looks at data without editing or commenting.
  • For each tool, we apply its own rule: viewers billed or not, according to its official documentation.
  • When two official pages from the same vendor contradict each other, we give the range covering both readings.
  • We use the first self-service paid plan, plus Airtable Business and Baserow Advanced, whose billing rule differs.
  • A figure missing from the official pages is marked ‘not stated’ and left out of the totals.

The annual cost on annual billing is the displayed monthly price multiplied by twelve. The annual cost on monthly billing is the undiscounted monthly price multiplied by twelve. Add-ons, AI credits and storage packs aren’t counted.

Who gets billed: editors, commenters or viewers?

Airtable, NocoDB and Rangee bill only those who edit, as does Baserow on its Advanced plan. SeaTable, Grist and Notion bill every team member, including those who only read. Baserow Premium remains ambiguous. For a team where 70% of people only view, this gap matters more than the seat price.

Tool and plan Price per seat per month (annual / monthly) Who gets billed
Airtable Team $20 / $24 Editors; commenters according to the help centre; read-only free
Airtable Business $45 / $54 Editors; commenters and viewers free
Baserow Premium $10 / $12 All collaborators, or only non-viewers, depending on the page
Baserow Advanced $18 / $22 Editors, Builders, Admins; Commenter and Viewer free
SeaTable Plus €7 / €9 excl. VAT Every active member with their own login
NocoDB Plus $12 / $15 Editors, billed up to the 9th only; commenters and viewers free
Grist Pro $8 / $10 Team members; 2 free guests per document
Notion Plus €9.50 / not stated Every member; guests not billed
Rangee Pro €5 (no published annual discount) Editors; readers and commenters free

Sources, checked on 1 November 2026: Airtable, Baserow, subscriptions overview, Baserow, plans, SeaTable, NocoDB, Grist, Notion. Rangee’s prices come from our published price list.

Baserow Premium needs a closer look. The subscriptions overview states that, on Premium cloud, all collaborators are billable. The plans page states that Baserow bills every active user except viewers. So we calculate both cases: editors only, or the whole team.

Notion’s monthly price isn’t visible: the pricing page shows annual billing by default, at €9.50 per member. It advertises savings of up to 20% on annual billing, without showing the monthly rate. So we only give the cost on annual billing.

Three further points help avoid unpleasant surprises. On Baserow Cloud, a workspace can’t mix free and paid active contributors. With Notion, a viewer can stay a guest, but only sees the pages shared with them. With Grist, free guests are limited to two per document.

What do you pay for 10, 25 and 50 people?

For team B, 8 editors and 17 viewers, the monthly bill on annual billing ranges from €40 with Rangee Pro to $360 with Airtable Business. Airtable Team comes to $160, NocoDB Plus to $96, SeaTable Plus to €175 and Notion Plus to €237.50. Baserow Premium sits between $80 and $250.

Monthly cost, on annual billing

Tool and plan Team A (10) Team B (25) Team C (50)
Airtable Team $80 $160 $300
Airtable Business $180 $360 $675
Baserow Premium $40 to $100 $80 to $250 $150 to $500
Baserow Advanced $72 $144 $270
SeaTable Plus €70 excl. VAT €175 excl. VAT €350 excl. VAT
NocoDB Plus $48 $96 $108
Grist Pro $80 $200 $400
Notion Plus €95 €237.50 €475
Rangee Pro €20 €40 €75

For Baserow Premium, the low end of the range counts editors only, the high end counts the whole team.

Source: official pricing pages of Airtable, Baserow, SeaTable, NocoDB, Grist and Notion, checked on 1 November 2026; Rangee’s published price list. Calculated by Rangee using each vendor’s billing rule.

Three findings stand out. First, Baserow Advanced costs less than Baserow Premium billed to the whole team: the seat is dearer, but viewers no longer pay. Second, NocoDB stops charging after the 9th editor, which keeps its bill almost flat between 25 and 50 people. Finally, at 50 people, Airtable Business exceeds $8,000 a year on annual billing.

If Baserow Premium bills only editors, however, it becomes cheaper than Advanced. Check this point with Baserow before you sign: it’s the widest gap in this survey.

Notion deserves a caveat. If your 35 viewers stay guests rather than members, only the 15 editors pay, which comes to €142.50 a month. In return, each guest only sees the pages shared with them. The guest cap on the Plus plan isn’t clear from the pricing page: check it before relying on this scenario.

What do free plans really allow?

The free plans checked on 1 November 2026 range from 500 to 10,000 records. SeaTable Free allows up to 25 users and 10,000 rows; Grist Free, 10 members and 5,000 records per document. Airtable Free caps out at 1,000 records per base and 100 automation runs per month.

Free plan Records Users Automations Storage
Airtable Free 1,000 per base 5 editors, 50 commenters, unlimited viewers 75 per base, 100 runs per month 1 GB per base
Baserow Free 3,000 per workspace Not stated 2,000 credits per workspace 2 GB per workspace
SeaTable Free 10,000 Up to 25 100 automations and 100 Python scripts per month per user 2 GB
NocoDB Free 1,000 3 editors, 10 commenters 100 runs per month 1 GB
Grist Free 5,000 per document 10 members, 2 guests per document None (Business only) 1 GB per document
Notion Free Blocks limited from 2 members, no published figure Not stated; 10 guests Buttons only 5 MB per file
Rangee Free 500 per base, 1 base Unlimited 10 per base, 250 runs per month 1 GB per workspace

Rangee’s Free plan is one of the tightest on volume: 500 records in a single base. It suits testing or a small tracker. For a team of 10 with a few thousand rows, SeaTable Free or Grist Free will last longer without paying, if their other limits suit you.

What happens when you go over a limit?

The pages we checked don’t mention data being deleted when you exceed a limit, but they say little about what follows. SeaTable blocks new rows and files while keeping access. Baserow blocks new rows after 7 consecutive days over the cap. NocoDB grants two weeks’ grace, then may restrict some features.

Tool Over the record limit Over the automation limit
Airtable Not stated Wait for the reset on the 1st of the month or change plan
Baserow Row creation blocked after 7 consecutive days over Not stated
SeaTable Access kept, no more new rows or files Not stated
NocoDB Notification, 2 weeks’ grace, then some features restricted Not specified, beyond the general usage-limits rule
Grist Not stated, the vendor suggests moving to the paid plan Not applicable on Free and Pro
Notion Blocks: no more additions, but existing blocks can still be edited Not stated
Rangee Warning at 80%, then new rows blocked; no data loss Runs refused until the next period, visible in the history

At Rangee, overages are never charged. The only extra purchase available is a 50 GB storage pack at €10 per month per workspace, on the Pro plan.

Which features are reserved for expensive plans?

The audit log is the feature most often held back: Enterprise Scale only at Airtable, Advanced at Baserow, Scale and Enterprise at NocoDB, Enterprise at Notion. Timeline and Gantt views are among Airtable’s Team features, and Baserow keeps Kanban, Calendar and Timeline for Premium.

Feature Airtable Baserow NocoDB Grist Notion SeaTable
Timeline, Gantt From Team Timeline from Premium; Gantt not stated Not stated Not stated Not stated Not stated
Audit log Enterprise Scale Advanced Scale, Enterprise Audit log streaming on Enterprise Enterprise Not stated

At Rangee, all eight views, Timeline and Gantt included, the audit log and the login history are on every plan. Plans differ only by volume. SSO is available as an option on the Custom plan, on request.

What these figures don’t tell you

A price per seat doesn’t sum up a tool. This survey compares bills, not feature depth, hosting or support. A tool that loses on one line may win on another, and Rangee has its limits too.

Baserow and NocoDB can be self-hosted; Rangee can’t be self-hosted and isn’t open-source software. If you want to install the tool on your own server, those two remain the right choice. NocoDB can also connect to an existing database, which Rangee doesn’t do.

Volume limits don’t always compare like for like. Airtable counts per base, Baserow and SeaTable per workspace or per team, Grist per document. Check your largest table before choosing, not just your headcount.

Finally, these prices change, and a vendor’s own pages don’t always say the same thing. Currencies differ: $1 and €1 aren’t worth the same, and VAT isn’t always included. We’ll repeat this survey every quarter and date every discrepancy.

Which tool should you choose for your team size?

For 10 people and a few thousand rows, a free plan may be enough: SeaTable Free and Grist Free cover this case on paper. Beyond that, the right criterion is the share of viewers. The higher it is, the more a tool that bills only editors pulls ahead: Airtable, NocoDB, Baserow Advanced or Rangee.

A few pointers from the survey:

  • You’re staying on Airtable: on Team, give people who only view the read-only role rather than commenter, so you don’t pay for them.
  • You have more than 9 editors and want to self-host or connect your own database: NocoDB becomes very economical.
  • You want European self-hosting with fine-grained permissions: Baserow Advanced.
  • You want data in Europe, no server to manage, and every feature from the first plan: Rangee Pro, at €5 per editor per month.

You can rework the tables above with your own headcount: count your editors, count your viewers, then apply each tool’s rule.

To check what your team would cost with us, see our pricing or create a free workspace: the Free plan doesn’t expire, and your readers never pay.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Airtable cost per month?

As of 1 November 2026, Airtable Team costs $20 per editor per month on annual billing, or $24 on monthly billing. Business costs $45 annually and $54 monthly. Enterprise Scale is priced on request. Read-only collaborators aren’t billed. According to Airtable’s help centre, commenters are billed on Team, but not on Business.

Is Airtable free?

Yes, Airtable’s Free plan costs nothing, but it’s limited. It offers 1,000 records per base, 5 editors, 50 commenters, 100 automation runs per month and 1 GB of attachments per base. Timeline and Gantt views are listed among the features added from Team upwards. Read-only collaborators are unlimited.

Does Airtable charge for viewers?

No. Airtable doesn’t bill read-only collaborators, form submissions or shared links. There’s one nuance on the Team plan: its help centre lists commenters among the billed roles, while the pricing page only mentions editing rights. On Business, commenters are free.

How much do Baserow and SeaTable cost?

Baserow Premium costs $10 per user per month on annual billing ($12 monthly); its pages disagree on whether viewers are billed. Advanced costs $18 ($22) and bills only editors, Builders and Admins. SeaTable Plus costs €7 per user per month on annual billing, €9 monthly, excluding VAT.

Which no-code database is cheapest for 50 people?

In our survey, for 15 editors and 35 viewers, Rangee Pro comes to €75 a month, because only editors pay. Among dollar-priced tools, NocoDB Plus is the cheapest: $108 a month on annual billing, because it bills only 9 editors. Baserow Premium follows, between $150 and $500 depending on which page you go by.
